In any workspace, background noise is generated by conversations, comings and goings and so on. These noise annoyances in the working environment are a factor for reducing concentration and may generate fatigue and stress.
The Soft dB France sound masking system using loudspeakers positioned in the false ceiling plenum chamber to transmit a uniform, non-disruptive sound which prevents any distracting peak noises.
ADJUSTMENT ADAPTED TO NOISE LEVEL
In order to be completely accepted and comfortable in a working environment, sound masking must be the least detectable as possible. This is why our active system adjusts to variations in ambient noise, in a gradual way which is imperceptible to users, with a variation rate of around 0.25 dB/minute. This variation rate may also be modulated according to application. For example, next to a teleconference room or senior manager’s office, a rate of 2.5 dB min will guarantee information privacy at all times.
QUICK CALIBRATION, ACCURATE RESULTS
The Smart SMS-NET stands out thanks to its automatic adjustment over 340 fine bands, meaning resolution around 10 times higher than a standard 1/3 octave band adjustment. The masking spectrum generated is much more uniform, and is incomparably gentle and comfortable, regardless of the workspace.
The spectrum generated in the room may be measured by the spectrum analyser integrated into the system. This analyser verifies that the masking generated complies fully with the sound spectrum being sought.
OPEN PLAN OFFICES
Sound is transmitted more easily in open plan spaces due to the lack of doors or walls to prevent it from spreading. Undesirable conversations become audible, disturbing colleagues located both nearby and far away. Sound masking boosts acoustic comfort in open plan areas by reducing the conversation distraction radius from 40 to 15 feet.
